We selected a novel biotin-binding peptide for sensing biotin, biotinylated proteins, and nucleotides. From 15-mer library displayed on the RNA coliphage Qβ, 15-amino acid long (HGHGWQIPVWPWGQG) hereby referred to as nanotag was identified selectively bind biotin. The target selection achieved through panning with elution by infection. tested transducer an immunogenic epitope of foot-and-mouth disease virus (FMDV) Qβ phage platform separated linker. biotin-tag showed no significant influence affinity its cognate antibody (SD6). nanotag-bound biotin fused either C- or N-terminus epitope. would not recognize SD6 while positioned at nanotag. Additionally, competed linearly in competitive ELISA. Competition assays using recombinant itself probe enable operationalization this technology biosensor toolkit sense quantify analyte. Herein, published Strep II (DVEWLDERVPLVET) used control has similar functionalities our proposed thereby providing new developing devices diagnostic purposes.
